STEP BY STEP: TEAMS

1. Submit the Team and/or Individual Entry Form on the website or send it to
    info@interware.co.za or fax 021-447-8410 or P.O Box 13029, Mowbray 7705.


2. The coach must provide an active e-mail address, and maintain this e-mail address throughout the Competition, so that he/she may act as the point of contact for the Team


3. The person authorised to sign on behalf of the school or institution (need not be the principal/rector) must provide an e-mail address.


4. The ThinkQuest SA office verifies the details provided.


5. The South African office enters the details of the coach on the international database.


6. The “person authorised” will receive an e-mail from the International office requesting verification of the coach’s details.


7. The coach receives a username and password to enter the team for the competition.


8. Coaches requiring free software for indigent students need to apply early; stocks are limited.  A maximum of three sets per team.


9. Coaches receive information and encouragement from the International office and the South African office.


10. Details of individuals looking for teams are made available to local and overseas coaches. (Coaches looking for an additional team member will contact the "contact person". Direct contact details for students are not provided.)


11. Upload the Website, as well as your Site Profile, well before the deadline. The Site Profile is a short questionnaire about your project.


12. A large number of international judges evaluate all websites submitted.


13. An international team of judges meets in San Francisco to select the international winners.


14. International winners announced on 29 May 2008.


15. The top South African teams (as selected by the international judges) announced on 15 July 2008.
                    1st, 2nd, 3rd in 12 and under group
                    1st, 2nd, 3rd in 15 and under group
                    1st, 2nd, 3rd in 19 and under group
    
    A number of Honourable Mention Awards may be made.


16. International winners, their coach and assistant coach and chaperones go to the ThinkQuest Live in San Francisco.


17. South African awards function date and venue to be confirmed.

STEP BY STEP: INDIVIDUALS

STEP-BY-STEP:  INDIVIDUALS

1. Submit the Individual Entry Form on the website or send it to

2. The contact person at the school or institution (need not be the principal/rector) must provide an e-mail address.


3. The ThinkQuest SA office verifies the details provided.


4. Details of individuals looking for teams are made available to local and overseas coaches. (Coaches looking for an additional team member will contact the “contact person”. Direct contact details for students are not provided.)


5. If a match is found, the individual student joins a team and is treated like a member of that team (see Step-By-Step for Teams above).

   Example: If a South African student joins a team in Hungary and the team is a winning team, the student from South Africa will be flown to San Francisco (with a chaperone if necessary) and will also receive the prize(s) the rest of the team receives.
